The state of Florida signalled plans to purchase 187,000 acres of farmland to be converted into reservoirs and marshes, to hopefully save the thirsty Everglades. But is there a more insidious plan at work?

Volcanoes - just not for spewing lava anymore! Apparently tapping into those hot beasties can power up homes. In super hero fashion, let's all chant - Sun, Wind, Lava!! Ok, well maybe not lava, but geothermal power is the next possible energy savior.

As fuel prices soar, Alaskan officials announced the exploration of the state's volcanoes, saying they could be exploited to provide energy for thousands of homes.

Companies are being invited to lease the rights to explore geothermal resources beneath Mount Spurr, a snowcapped 11,070-foot volcano that most recently erupted in 1992 showering much of Anchorage with volcanic ash.

As a solution that makes sense, and is available now, I hope the government officials to be, finally take a serious look at real alternative energy and proceed.

When a baby is born, they are instantly bombarded with environmental chemicals. Formaldehydes, classified as a probable human carcinogen, are used in building materials to textiles. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are present in wood and laminated furniture, shelving, most paints (that are not low VOC) and wall covers. Heck, just bringing a baby home from the hospital exposes them to air pollutants. So, the question is, is Organic Baby Clothing really worth it? We answer with a resounding, Yes.

It's spooky what we put on our babies.

If I could put a little super hero cape on Google's logo, I would. Always innovative, Google is creating an online system that will tie the world together with an emergency response system, so to speak. Google new site - Google.org will be used to "Predict and Prevent" hot spots in the world, in order to help be proactive with local, regional, or global crises.

Mobil Exxon Exec Calls Environmental Movement "Cute"

Despite a court challenge by environmental organizations this month to stop the $8-billion Kearl oilsands project in Alberta, Canada, Mr. Tillerson, the Exxon Mobil CEO brazenly admits he expects little delay.

Referring to Climate Change, Tillerson says, "And I will take all the criticism that comes with it. Anybody that tells you that they got this figured out is not being truthful. There are too many complexities around climate science for anybody to fully understand all of the causes and effects and consequences of what you may chose to do to attempt to affect that. We have to let scientists to continue their investigative work, unencumbered by political influences. This is too important to be cute with it."

I love Canadians - they are always thinking up creative ways to combat evil. The awesome gals behind Panties for Peace are sending women's undergarments overseas to the Myamar Junta to throw them 'off their game' so to speak. First the ban has been lifted on killing whales and gray wolves, and now South Africa said Monday that it will start killing elephants to reduce 'their burgeoning numbers', ending a 13-year ban and possibly setting a precedent for other African nations.

Something stinks, and it very well may be ethanol. Science does not back corn ethanol as a green solution. The process is not only inefficient, but it takes food producing farm land and reduces the human food supply, thus driving us the cost of food.
